Principal, Amy Botica
With many years of teaching and administrative experience in our community, I am delighted to serve the as the Principal of Nathan Hale Middle School. I look forward to working with the staff, students and families as we move through what will be a tremendous year of learning and growth for our students. Growing up in Crestwood, I attended school at Nathan Hale from kindergarten through eighth grade (K-8). Many years later, my teaching career began as a Mathematics and Science teacher at Nathan Hale Middle School. In 2001, I proudly began serving the students and families in Cook County School District 130 as an administrator. My experiences throughout the many years of working with the students and parents at all grade levels (K-8), and from the four communities within CCSD 130 has led to a deep understanding of our families’ needs. The education of children is one of the most important tasks in our society. As a school community, we are determined in providing the students, staff, families, and community a safe and nurturing school environment, with an emphasis on high academic expectations. At Nathan Hale Middle School, our students are empowered to learn and grow to the best of their abilities. With parent support and a strong home-school connection, we will help your child achieve their social, emotional and educational goals. Please join NHM as our partners in educating our students! Educationally Yours, Amy Botica

Welcome Panther Families to the 2019-2020 School Year
I am thrilled to begin my administrative career here at Nathan Hale Middle School. This will be my 20th year in education. Eastern Illinois University is where I received my bachelor of arts degree in English with teacher certification. After over ten years of teaching, I attended Governors State University where I obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.
At NHM, we believe that all children deserve the best and it is our job to give it to them. As the assistant principal, I will work to support students both academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe the future careers our current students will obtain may not even exist yet since technology and the job market is changing everyday. Therefore, it is our responsibility to not only prepare them for the next grade level but also the future. This preparation will include experiences that are challenging, relevant, and meet the needs of the individual student. With the district’s newly adopted strategic plan as our guide, we will make sure that your child receives a well-rounded education that supports their academic, physical, and emotional growth.
I am looking forward to supporting the students, staff, and communities of Nathan Hale Middle School.
Please contact me with any celebrations or concerns you may have. It’s going to be a great year!
